How To Add Your WordPress Website To Google Search Console

Google has given many options to add your site in Google Search Console . Let me guide you.

Step 1:- After you log in to Google Search Console with your Google account. You will see an option on the right hand top  add a property.Click on that button.

The recommended method is to use the HTML file. Just download that file to your computer and go to the cPanel of your web hosting account.

Go to cPanel>>files>>file manager>>upload the file using the “UPLOAD” button from the navigation menu shown below.

choose the file from your computer and upload it. After uploading, verify it by clicking on the button in the Google Search Console.

Alternate Methods.

Instead of doing it from the cPanel, you can use another method. Click on the “Alternate methods” and you will see many options.

The most effective one is to generate “HTML tag” and put it in the <head> tag of your website.

It will be a meta tag consisting the code for your website.

To add it on your website head, either you can use a plugin or add it manually in the header.php file of the theme. as shown in pic below.



After adding, click on the verify button and it will get verified.

There are many other options mentioned on the same page. If you have already installed Google Analytics on your website then the same account can be used.

Even your domain provider account can be used.

 

Add Your WordPress Website To Google Search Console Using Yoast SEO Plugin.


So many users are there who depend on the Yoast SEO plugin for their website’s SEO.

If you also using this plugin, you would be happy to know that your website can be verified from that only.

When you use the HTML tag method, you get a <meta> tag to add in the head section of your website.

Let me give you an example of the code.

<meta name=google-site-verification” content=”verificationcode” />

You just have to code only the “verificationcode” and paste it in the plugin.

Just navigate to SEO>>Dashboard>>Webmaster Tools and paste that verification code in the Google Search Console field.

Save the settings and verify it by using the verify button from verification page from Google Search Console.

Now, you can see the growth of your website using Google Search Console.

To optimize your website for SEO, you have to add your website sitemap to Google. There are many plugins which generate it. And if you’re using Yoast SEO, no extra plugin is required.
